Chamber celebrates 2009 with an eye to the future
The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce's 2009 Winter Gala, held Dec. 15 at El Caribe Country Club in Mill Basin, was a great success. More than 300 attendees networked with our honorees and each other while enjoying great food and dancing to the music of the Dexter Lake Club Band.

Three champions of local business were honored for their contributions to Brooklyn: Brooklyn Cooperative Federal Credit Union, Green Desk and the blog Brownstoner.com. The three organizations were presented with special proclamations from New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli.
This year's event would not have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors, TD Bank, Con Edison, EmblemHealth, Exxon-Mobil, Maimonides Medical Center, Empire BlueCross BlueShield, Health Plus, Sovereign Bank and Waste Management. We also want to thank the Winter Gala Benefit Committee for their efforts. And, of course, the evening's ultimate success is owed to our Members and friends for supporting this annual event that helps to fund the Chamber's economic development initiatives for the coming year.
