NYC Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg today announced 11 initiatives to help support New York City’s financial services sector and grow as a global center for business innovation and entrepreneurship. The initiatives include partnerships with educational institutions and property owners to establish incubators to support business start-ups, the creation of a NYC angel fund, launching a financial services business plan competition, as well as two new programs – a business training program for entrepreneurs called FastTrac and JumpStart NYC, a free job training and placement pilot program designed for laid off workers from the financial services industry.
