What does your business do? When and Why did you join the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce?
Alan Siege’s Park Slope-based business provides a range of custom-tailored marketing services for small firms: “Since 1996 we have been helping companies increase income and profits through deepening their business niche, building their brand identity and assisting them in effectively using available resources. Our clients are primarily based in New York City and vary widely from architects, restaurateurs and chiropractors to an elder care company and an English language school.
On the advice of a colleague, I joined the Chamber in 2002 to build my business through networking.”

How has your Brooklyn Chamber membership assisted your business?
“I am active on the Chamber’s Small Business Seminar and Minority and Women Business Owners Committees, and often attend the Chamber’s seminars, workshops and monthly Business After Hours events. Effective networking has led to new clients and opportunities for my business. For example, I worked with fellow Member Robert Levin to publish my article, “How to Always Pitch a Strike” in the September/October 2006 issue of his magazine New York Enterprise Report, from which I’ve received positive feedback. The Chamber’s networking services have been invaluable in helping to grow my business.”
